As a first time home buyer, searching for a Mortgage Lender can be scary and confusing......that is unless you are working with Drew Walls.
My girlfriend and I began searching for homes about 6 months prior to our closing. My cousin highly recommended Drew as a great Lender to work with. Drew worked with us through the whole process. His expertise and experience helped in educating us on our options and decisions along the way. He was always patient, attentive, and eager to assist us at any point he could.

I worked with Drew to buy my first home via FHA. It was a very tedious and involved process but he was always available, explaining every step to me and made sure that I was able to close on time. I’ve heard that FHA loans typically take a long time, but in my case the FHA process was very streamlined and Drew made sure all of my documents were submitted to underwriting and we were ready to close. He even helped with other fiascos unrelated to my FHA loan that I had general questions on. He truly went above and beyond to get my deal closed and I will definitely be using him again in the future. I highly recommend, especially for new investors or first time home buyers!

His professionalism, attentiveness, and responsiveness were the qualities that I think set him apart. He was willing to walk me through the answers to various questions I had and was never too busy to hop on the phone with me (even at my odd hours of the day/night :) ). Full Statement: Drew reached out to me two years ago offering to answer some questions I had posed. They were about what options are available to obtain financing for a house hack. He was very helpful with general information through private messages - but we came to a point where we had to review my personal finances to determine what my options were. He offered to sit down with me and see whats possible. I was a little apprehensive at first because I had just graduated college and had a low net worth. I didn't think a professional such as Drew would take me seriously. I'm really glad I decided to meet with him. I brought all the information he asked me for. We reviewed my savings, debt, income, and plans. Any lender could have easily scoffed at my finances and told me to come back when I'm ready - but Drew saw that I was serious and helped me set some goals to reach.
Over the past two years I've asked Drew to write me 25-30 pre-approval letters. Drew's responsiveness has been absolutely indispensable and so incredibly valuable. Each time I saw a house that I wanted to make an offer on, I simply asked Drew to write me a new letter. Weekends or after-hours, Drew would get back to me with a letter ASAP - almost always the same day, and if not then the next. Lenders are by no means obligated to make you customized pre-approval letters for each offer. A simple blanket pre-approval letter is perfectly acceptable, but custom pre-approvals with the property's address and offer amount on it are more effective when making an offer.
FHA loans have some special requirements for what is deemed an allowable property. Drew is very knowledgeable about them. If I saw something questionable at a house, I would send Drew a picture and ask if it's acceptable. Being able to have open dialogue with your mortgage broker is rare and so helpful. Drew is also experienced with the 203k renovation mortgage product which I considered using.
I ended up going with a conventional, low down-payment, mortgage product. Drew was honest about rates, fees, and what to expect through the whole process. He offered his honest opinions and advice even if they weren't necessarily beneficial to him. His advice will save me tens of thousands of dollars over the duration of my loan.
From the first step to the closing table Drew has been more helpful than I could have ever imagined. I'm incredibly thankful to have him on my team. I'm going to use Drew for my loans for as long as possible and for as many properties as possible. I recommend him to my own family and friends. If you're in a state that he services, give him a strong consideration. I cant say enough good things about him.
